Guest blog: James Harries, Fund Manager, Newton Investment Management

In a client meeting yesterday I was asked if the concerns relating to Europe and China specifically and emerging markets more broadly are reasonable. Well, I do think that China is slowing and is likely to continue slowing; at Newton we think there’s been a big misallocation of capital in that economy and that the air coming out of the property sector there is likely to knock onto other areas of the economy in a way that won’t be particularly beneficial to investors.
